About the Atlantic Dialogues Emerging Leaders Program
PCNS will hold its 13th Atlantic Dialogues Conference, a prestigious gathering for significant leaders from the Atlantic region (both public and private sectors). The event promotes candid, informal conversations on transnational issues that cross regional boundaries, fostering dialogue across generations.
The ADEL Program
Three days before the Atlantic Dialogues conference, the Atlantic Dialogues Emerging Leaders (ADEL) program takes place. It’s a key initiative by the Policy Center for the New South (PCNS) for young professionals. For the eleventh year of the program, forty young leaders will be chosen to participate from December 8-12, 2024, in Rabat, Morocco. After that, they will go to the Atlantic Dialogues Conference from December 12-14.
Application Requirements
To be considered for the ADEL program, candidates must:
- Be between 25 and 35 years old on May 3rd, 2024.
- Be citizens or residents of countries in Africa, North America, South America, Central America, Europe, or the Caribbean.
- Demonstrate proficiency in English.
- Be available for the full duration of the program from December 8-16, 2024.
How to Apply
To apply, complete the online form before June 16th, 2024, and include the following materials:
A resume or CV (not more than 2 pages, in PDF format)
A brief personal statement (up to 250 words) explaining your reasons for applying, your potential contributions, and how the program will benefit you.
A 1-minute private YouTube video that includes:
An introduction to yourself and your field of work.
Your motivations and the impact you’re making.
Why are you applying to the ADEL program?
How you will contribute to and benefit from the program. Submit your application in English as early as possible to prevent technical difficulties.
Selection Process
A selection committee will review applications and notify candidates by September 2024. Selection is competitive and based on:
- Professional achievement and growth.
- Leadership potential and demonstrated leadership.
- Interest in issues affecting wider Atlantic relations.
- Commitment to global, Atlantic, and local engagement.
- Ability to contribute to the Atlantic Dialogues and Emerging Leaders networks.
- Communication skills.
Program Expectation
Selected emerging leaders are expected to:
- Attend all program and conference activities from December 8–14, 2024.
- Actively engage with other participants.
- Serve as ambassadors of the program post-event.
- Collaborate with PCNS to refine the program for future cohorts.
